The House

Who designs House of Rednam jewelry?

Every piece is designed by Dr. Rukmini (Vinaya) Rednam, a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Houston, Texas.

What inspired House of Rednam?

An operating room photoshoot. Dr. Rednam was holding a scalpel as part of the pose, and when she saw the photograph afterward she noticed for the first time how beautiful the instrument was.

Why is each piece named after a person?

Every design is named for someone in Dr. Rednam’s life: her daughter, her mother, her grandmother, her aunt, her brother, her husband, her sister, and colleagues from her surgical practice.

Does Dr. Rednam still practice medicine?

Yes. She is a practicing board-certified plastic surgeon, known internationally for post-weight-loss body contouring.

What is House of Rednam jewelry made of?

Solid 18K gold and sterling silver, with natural diamonds. Nothing in the fine jewelry collection is plated base metal.

Does House of Rednam give to charity?

Yes. Five percent of every sale goes to the Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, which gives children from India’s poorest communities an education, a home, healthcare and mentorship, and to Noonday Collection, which creates fair-paying work for artisans around the world.

The jewelry

Is the jewelry solid gold?

Yes. Every fine jewelry piece is made in solid 18K gold or sterling silver, set with natural diamonds or color stones. The jacket pins and dress pins in Accessories are gold-plated.

Can a piece be made in a different metal?

Most designs are offered in 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and sterling silver. White gold, black rhodium finishes and other metals can be commissioned through a customization inquiry.

Can I add an engraving or a stone?

Yes. Engravings, stone changes and entirely new instruments can be commissioned. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back to you within two business days.

Do you take corporate or group orders?

Yes, whether that is a department, a graduating class or a gift list. Send a customization inquiry with what you have in mind and how many, and we will come back to you within two business days.

How should I care for my piece?

Gold, silver and natural diamonds are made to be worn and to be kept. A few habits keep a piece as it left the House; they are collected in the Care Guide.

Orders and delivery

How long does an order take?

Each piece is made to order and takes six to eight weeks. Pieces in stock are dispatched within a few business days.

Is shipping included?

Standard shipping within the United States is complimentary on orders over $500; for orders of $500 or less, a flat $30 shipping fee is added at checkout. A signature is required on delivery, so we cannot ship to PO Boxes.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Shipping, including insurance, is calculated separately, and you are responsible for any import duties and customs charges. Please contact us for details before checkout.

Can I return a piece?

Pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unworn, in brand-new condition and with all original packaging and proof of purchase. Custom and personalized pieces are final sale. The full policy is on the Shipping & Returns page.

Does a purchase support anyone?

Five percent of every sale goes to the Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project or to Noonday Collection. Both are described on Her Story.
